Final Sunset of this year

Today is final day of year2010.

I did ride bike, and could see beautiful sunset.
The sun is behind of Mt. Fuji!

This year, I met and cooperate to so many people. I think got power from them.
I appreciate to everybody. Thanks a lot!!!

Honestly, I wish next year will be good for all of you.

First day of new year holiday

Hi,

This year my work was finished on yesterday.
Last night, I went to my favorite bar with guys and drunk sooooooo much!! I did back to home on 2:00 am.

Of course, I could not wake up early morning. Feel so baaaad when wake up on 10:00am.

Today's my task is my wife's asking. I have to make new year greeting card ( Nengajo in Japanese) and print!

So, after that, I went to around city with fixedgear bike.

I took some photos.

1st is my favorite view point
We can see Tachikawa city.

2nd is Mt. Fuji with sunset.
My home town is about 100km from Mt. Fuji.

3rd is today's partner.
Affinity kissena. I think I will replace saddle to alione by fizik because I could not move on saddle. I will try tomorrow morning.

Last two days in this year.
I have to ride in early morning, in day time, I have to shopping many foods and play with my boy!! More busy than my working????

I should go to sleep.

Today is final day of working in 2010

Hi,

Today is final day of working day in this year.

I had many experience in my work. I was change position in my company from end of last year, I could work for more deep technical research.
I think I did know so many technical knowledge and I am growth?!

However, I did feel, difficult to transfer my knowledge and experience to somebody, I have to study and step-up!!

I appreciate to team members and many cooperation company guys. I hope see you again soon.

Road bike with power meter

Hi,

Today, I will write about power meter of road bike. I use Powertap system with Garmin GPS reciever since last year July.

My road bike was made on 2006, frame is carbon one piece, replaced front fork to EDGE fork that is very stiff and enough light weight.

Power meter is in Rear wheel hub (powertap). I use with EDGE 66mm carbon rim.

Before use power meter, I used only HRM system. HRM system is very good for monitor my condition and load. However load is not real time because HR increased after little bit time. And sometime I saw deferent HR value on the same route due to wind condition and my physical condition.

Power meter can indicate real load. I can manage easy my power and training load.
But sometime I disappointed because I saw own poor physical....it is motivation for me.

Usually I use Powertap, I can know load of my training route and can feel. If I use deferent wheels (not Powertap), I can ride almost same load by experience Powertap. Honestly speaking I wanna other power meter on crank arm (example; SRM or Cinq), hahaha.
Also I expect to Japanese maker's new power meter (Pioneer said they are developing)

So, currently I did not have any trouble on Powertap. It has good durability. Only one worry point this is water proof performance.

Powertap has a cover for battery and electric base, of course it has seal ring between cover and body, but not enough to heavy rain.
I paint silicon grease to thread between here.

Maniac road bike parts

Hi,

I like to use minor parts.
Introduce currently my like parts.

Rotor chain ring for Campy crank.

Purchased reason is very simple, interesting!!.
My choice is 50x36 set.

Rotor rings are possible to change to position of top of Oval, at first I did set Rotor recommended position. They said " 500km just riding".

My first impression is "I can through smoothly dead point of cranking" and my cadence was little bit increased as same gear position.

It is very interesting paper!!

One point, you are interesting about gear shift.
I use Shimano FD and SRAM lever for Front gear change system.
It is little bit sensitive compare with circle chainrings. In my case, it has not any problem, I think little bit slow gear change inner to outer. But it is better than other third party circle chainrings I think.

Next one is TRP brake.

I love red color and full machined caliper and it is enough light weight.

My first impression is;
*brake force is enough.
*little bit less brake force compare with Shimano Ultegra brake.
*brake lever feeling is very nice with SRAM lever.
*little bit expensive but cheaper than Gravity brake.

Wien city

This is trip!!

Hi,

I did back to home from Euro business trip.
Business meeting was very good and smooth, but my return trip was not so good.

My original plan,
18th/Dec. Departure Wien through Frankfurt to Tokyo, 19th morning will be back.
Last week, North of Europe weather is too bad. It was heavy snow and wind. My Frankfurt flight wad cancelled!!

I had to stay in Wien one more night. It wad better for me because I could have enough time in Wien. (sorry for my family)

Now Europe is before Christmas. I can see really beautiful many illumination and drink hot wine.


Steyr, Austria on 15 to 17th December.

Wien city on 18th December.

Finally, I got new flight. Sunday morning From Wien to first destination Taipei (Taiwan) 12hours flight. waiting 3hours in Taipei airport, I took to Narita 3 hours flight. It was so long.
I arrived home on 16:00, Monday. 22 hours!!
Tired!!

But it was "Winter trip"!!

Now I am fighting against jet lag!!

Airbus A380 trip

Hi,

I am in Austria for business.

This time trip I took Lufthansa with A380. My first experience.

Above photo is A380 on deck. My first impression is "Huuuuuge".

Boarding time was like Japanese train station!! So many people. This flight was full
Seated!! Over 500 peoples boarded!!

A380 is comfortable for me. seat pitch is increased.

It is very interesting, Flight information and On-board Camera.

I will take A380 again for return to Japan.

Influence from European people

Hi,

Last five years, I had many experience on working with European company guys. I think I also had good influence from them that is very good motivation.

But, beginning was very tough for me because it was difficult to communicate with them due to my English is poor!! My student years, I did learn English!! But I didn't remember, certainty did not understand to mean learn English.

1st good influence for me, I have to learn English again for proceed to task with European guys. Currently, I enjoy to use English. I think to learn Germany now because I go to German language area frequently, if I can communicate in German, more fun.

2nd;
I did contact to many people and enjoy to share to same time with them. It was very interesting experience!! Talking about History of each country, common hobby, etc.

3rd;
I could touch deferent culture, life style, philosophy of working, method of proceed task and etc. Most impressive topic was;
I am a Japanese Engineer.
In development phase,
Typical Japanese company style is "so, Let's start, consider during development" I think it is very flexible style but worry to compromise and development target will be changed....

Their style is " development target and requirements should be cleared by us" it is very simple and very clear style.

I could not judge which is best, but I think I can choose which is more better and I can combine each ways.

I am considering again and again to my work and my life.

So, I have more other points about this, but difficult to writing here....my English is not so good....I have to more learn.

I will go to Europe on tomorrow. I wish I can get deferent experience....

My Fixed Gear Bike

Hi,
Introduce my fixed gear bicycle and process of assembly.
My fixed gear bike frame is Affinitycycles Kissena.

In last year November, I think I want a new machine, but carbon road frame is expensive.
I also think "Fixed gear bike is good solution for skill up to my pedaling".



So, I did look on so many web pages. I find very cool looks frame, this is kissena by affinitycycles that did run in CMWC2009 Tokyo by Alex.
I decide to buy this!!


However, it was long way to complete bike....delay and delay....I think frame factory had difficult some thing may be. Therefore I did prepare other components and consider my riding position with skeleton drawing. It was fun time!! 


Kissena is real track racer, it has no brake hole each side (Front Fork and rear of frame) and no hole for bottle cages. Bottle issue is not so big problem, but brake hole issue is big problem for running on Japanese public road. In Japanese row, bicycle should have front and rear brake both!!


My Idea is very simple way, I replace the front fork with brake hole (for road bike) and Diacompe long reach rear brake use.


Main components specifications;
Rear Wheel: Use former my road-bike carbon rim --> replace hub and assemble by myself
Front wheel: Use same as road bike...hub space is same (100mm)
Crank: SRAM omnium 167.5mm 48T
Brake lever: Cane Creek lever..it is good looking
Handle bar: Carbon handle...from former road bike.


Last August, I got kissena frame from Affinitycycles. Red color is very beautiful!! like this.

Seat mast is like airplane wing shape.

Assembly process was very smooth. but my legs is short....I have to cut seat mast of frame..Damn....

During Assembly photo, after take photo I had to cut seat mast and fork column.

Complete assemble!!

My impression;

It is very stiff frame, not comfortable...but acceleration performance is Awesome!!

Handling character is quite quick and BB to center dimension is very short, I have to carefully in deep turn condition, hit my feet to front tire, it's dangerous.

I am satisfy and enjoy ride!!

Now I try to change gear ratio for each situations. (Long ride, up and down, sprint and other!!)

This year, I went to Europe twice time. In July and October. So this time is in December.
I can see many face of each seasons and many European cities. It is very interesting experience for me.

Now, Christmas season in Austria. I am looking forward to see illumination in city nights and drink hot wine!!

Of course I have to do working with Austrian company guys before enjoy city....
